I'll probably drive all the legs. My wife, who is a great driver, tends to get blowouts . Besides, I hate sitting in a car (or van) and not driving.

American is actually the only one of the major airlines I've never flown with, primarily because they're never going the direction I need to go.
Want to fly from Pittsburgh to Boston? American be like "Aight, I'ma route you through either Dallas/Fort Worth or Miami, you pick."

I once flew American for work because we were required to take the cheapest flight on their booking system. They canceled three flights on me because the weather "might get bad", and "it is storming in Green Bay". I got back to work the next day and asked my boss who laughed at me. His wife was in GB that day and it was sunny and nice. After that I tricked the booking system into making a Northwest flight the cheapest. Hooray for booking systems that allow you to search for flight times based on 1 minute windows.

The only times I few 1st class was with American (free upgrade when I was in the Army/in uniform) beyond that I have only flown southwest.
